Editing Services“I met a man at a party and he said ‘I’m writing a novel.’ Have you written a book? Are you thinking of writing a book? If you have completed, or are embarking on a major writing project, a dissertation or thesis, a lengthy article, your first or next novel, or a non-fiction work on your specialist subject, and whether you plan to self publish, or pitch to an agent or publishing house, you’ll need an editor.
I’ve written several books, and although I am an editor, I still use an editor myself. Because however good you are at your subject, however well-written your book is, however great your talent, you need a fresh eye to oversee what you've written. A good editor can do any or all of the following things:
I’ve written a few novels, and a couple of non-fiction titles. I've also advised a number of people as they've gone through the whole process. Most recently, I’ve been the editor on a self-help cancer manual, the illustrated diary of a motorbike road trip from Bristol to Afghanistan, and a retirement planning guide written by an independent financial adviser for people hoping to retire to Spain. I’m currently advising a thriller writer on his first book. I’ve self published several of my own books, so I know how that feels, and I've picked up a lot of tips and hints along the way. I’m also an experienced copywriter, and an academic researcher, and although I can't promise you'll get an agent or a publisher, and I can't write your book for you, I can give you the best support as you do it. |
