I was born a while ago in a building which was once a hospital and is now one of London’s most exclusive hotels. Over the years I’ve been a journalist, a PR for a men’s underwear brand, full -time yacht crew, a timeshare sales rep, a sportswriter, a brand strategist, a schools’ business mentor and a director of several modest companies. However, despite all this excitement, I’ve always found time to write, and now I’m concentrating on finishing projects and releasing them into the wild.
I love art galleries and am usually thinking of taking up painting. (I like zoos too, but the zebra community has nothing to fear at present). I do my share of sampling lovely food and wine, and I really love to travel, as far and for as long as possible. I’m not a bad cook and can be relied upon to provide Sunday lunch, or homemade cake and biscuits to visitors, builders, gardeners, amazon delivery personnel and anyone else who may be passing. I’ve also recently embarked on a doctoral research degree in English Literature and Social History, where I’m looking into the changing perceptions of heroism in post-war British fiction. Atticus Drake is the first literary hero of my own creation, and as you will see, his most recent adventure takes place in New York. I’m undecided as to where he’ll go next, so let me know if you have an idea of where you'd like to find him. |

My great loves: The sea, 85% dark chocolate, champagne, umbrellas, brass bands,
My pet hates: beetroot, goat’s cheese, beetroot and goats cheese together, overcrowding, indifferent service, excess packaging
My favourite words of the moment: treacle, rain, whatsoever
Secret of the week: Mrs Thatcher once spent an afternoon with me at our house and neither of us even tried to escape.
